Adequate sleep is one of the most important and overlooked aspects of living a healthy life. Recovery can not happen without good sleep. lack of good sleep can also contribute to weight gain. A lot of people struggle with sleep.
Here are five things to help you get started on improving your sleep.
    1. No screens of any kind one-hour before bed. Blue light does not help with sleep. I set my phone to sleep mode from 9pm to 5am.This helps with keeping disturbances to a minimum. • 7 ways to get more out of your Time at Rigor

    Set Goals For Yourself
Set goals for yourself, write them down, and tell people about them to keep yourself accountable. Reference your journal to make sure you're not squatting the same weight over and over each week. The only way to grow is to know where you're at. Start journaling if you haven't already. Coaches Tip from Coach Joshua:
Failing to reach a goal is often about the planning. Lofty, long term goals are great, but how do you plan to get there? Set short term goals, each of which takes you one step closer to yourultimate goal. Having trouble setting these short term goals?...ask a Coach; we're happy to help! Make New Friends

    Track your progress

Know your Numbers! As coaches we are asked "What weight should I use" almost every class. This is a great question. Those who scale appropriately get the intended dose from the work out that is programed for the day. When asked "What Weight?" the coach will have a question for you as well. "What was your last Fran time?" "What is your max thruster?" "What is your max Jerk?" Depending on the WOD the coach will need some info from you. If you don't have any idea what your numbers are the coach will have a hard time giving you the right RX for the day. When you are new this is to be expected. It can take up to 6 months to hit the majority of the movements. After six months you should have ....

Summer. The most important time to CF.

It's typical for gyms to empty out a bit during summer months but this time of year is when it's most important to continue a workout regime. To continue to progress towards your fitness goals and remain in the best shape for all of your exciting summer activities, you'll need to stay consistent with your workouts. Reasons to WOD all summer long:

More muscle = less fat. Met Con's will burn calories but your metabolism depends greatly on how much lean muscle mass you have. CrossFit provides both cardio and strength training and will keep you in tip top shape for outdoor fun.
More muscle = less bone loss. Weight baring exercises strengthen bones, build balance, and help prevent falls. ....

    Setting up Success

Hey All! Changing habits is hard. No denying it. We know this at CrossFit Rigor. Setting yourself up for success is fairly easy however. Give yourself a chance by following the following guidelines. Plan your week on Sunday.
