CrossFit in Blaine - CrossFit Rigor

Get to know Dennis Johnson

  1. What do you do for a living?  Pharmacist

  2. What is your favorite thing to do outside of the gym?  I enjoy hunting for agates and other outdoor activities.

  3. What made you decide to try Rigor? I really enjoy how much everyone roots for each other in reaching their goals and my best friend is now one of my coaches.

  4. How long have you been at CrossFit Rigor?  I just started the end of October, so just over a month.

  5. What was your experience with fitness like prior to CrossFit Rigor? I have done 2 full marathons and several half marathons. Prior to becoming a part of the CrossFit Rigor family I was a member at the Andover YMCA. I tried to do some of the CrossFit movements on my own, but having a coach to guide me has really made a huge difference.

  6. What was your biggest fear when you started?  My biggest fear was not being good enough to do all the movements.

  7. Favorite cheat day meal? I have to go with the orange chicken at Cheesecake Factory. YUM!! OK maybe I have a couple bites of cheesecake too!

  8. What goal(s) are you currently chasing?  Mostly trying to improve shoulder mobility.

  9. What’s the hardest part about your fitness journey at the moment? I am struggling with knee pain right now, but I try to push past it.

  10. What’s one thing your fellow Rigor members would be surprised to learn about you?  I have a very extensive beanie baby collection.

  11. What’s your favorite piece of advice you’ve gotten from a coach or member at CF Rigor?  Tough to narrow to just one thing. I have really gotten so much encouragement from all the coaches. The push to keep going and not spend so long resting between reps is really what I need to hear most.

  12. How has your outlook on health/fitness changed since starting CF?  My workouts are now more about improving upon my previous performance rather than comparing myself to others.

  13. What has been your fondest memory during your time at CF Rigor? My first real push press. Getting locked out at the top has always been a struggle for me, but I feel like making the move to Rigor has helped me gain the confidence I needed.

  14. Why do you think you have stuck with CF Rigor?  I really love the support I feel from all the coaches and the other members.

  15. What would be your one piece of advice for someone who’s just joining CF Rigor? Never compare yourself to someone else. Just do your best and keep trying to get better. Each person has their own strengths and weaknesses.

If you could include two photos that you would like included in your member profile that would be greatly appreciated!
